world news...NOW...:...breaking news...scicily has been liberated...after much hard fighting the ever valiant allied forces liberated scicily from the HUN-italian forces...spearheaded by veteran french armor corps (secretly deployed from their spainish bases) the allies destroyed 12 crack italian divisions and numerous HUN military support battalions...this now marks a turning point in the allied military posture according to the office of armies who support the worlds oceans (formerly the miniser of war) lord jefferies longbottom (the very same lord longbottom who as a junior naval lieutenant drew up the plans for the galliepeo invasion during the great war) "we have shifted our focus from defense to interventionalism...the caliber of the HUN and his allies has been tested and been found wanting...with the italian navy sunk we now dominated all the worlds oceans and can attack at will in any theater of war...in short the war has changed...we expect the liberation of france within the year"...brave words from a brave man...

europe: the ever valiant swiss have been conquered by the HUN and numerous atrocities were reported by pilots of the free swiss air force as they flew to bases in north africa...the once great chocolate factories have been reduced to rubble and now it appears as if luxury chocolate is a thing of the past...can the fledgling usa chocolate industry pick up in production to meet the worlds craving...only time will tell but until that time we all have to tighten our belts and fortify our minds...just another casualty of an all ready brutal war...sharp naval actions off norway were reported as the combined navies of brazil and the uk drove off the HUN navy as it attempted to break out into the atlantic...and while some aged english cruisers were lost from the reserve fleet the HUN navy was smashed as a force in being for the time being...the office of the worlds oceans liason lord bottoms-up had this to say "the HUN apparently forgot who indeed controls the worlds oceans as he attempted to sortie his cruiser fleet...screening destoryers were able to report the position before being overwhelmed and the reserve navy at scapa flow sailed to engage...in the truest spirit of co-operation the brazilians made their powerful battle fleet avaliable for the action as well...the fleets engaged off of norway and resulted in a complete victory of the allies...with the flagship of the worlds navy the HMS Hood arriving just after the action broke off...in short we still control the worlds oceans...'

the mediterranian: massive naval battles were fought in the med...and numerous italian vessels were sent to the drink as the ever victorious french and english navies once again showed the world why they say 'rule brittania...brittania rules the waves'...against all common sense the italians sortied no less than 4 fleets to include their main battle fleet...after some sharp action all major surface ships of the HUN-italian fleet now lie at the bottom of the english lake...the pride of the italian navy the dreadnaught class battleship conte de cavour (which translates apparently into english as 'the unsinkable vessel of italian naval supremacy' (loose translation)) was sunk by the destoryer HMS hunter of the deeps with torpedoes...major cruiser elements of the HUN-italian navy fought two seperate actions against the french heavy cruiser fleet off naples and tarantino resulting in many dead italians for no french loses...the ever valiant HMS Hood sunk no less than 3 major italian modern cruisers solidifying its place as the flagship of freedom (the HMS Hood is now unofficially known as the HMS bringer of freedom one 15" shell at a time)...the spanish front remains quiet with massive usa reinforcements arriving almost hourly...new tanks with spirited commanders now roam the spanish wilds looking for HUNS to kill...itching to get 'into the action' as it were...

asia: siam has withdrawn from the vile axis alliance and proclaimed solidarity with the usa and the allies...after being liberated from their hated masters the HUNs the people of siam proclaimed their undying support for the cause of freedom as expressed by american marines (one dead japanese at a time this reporter has been told) and now allows allied freedom of movement through their lands...in indo-china the american devil dogs (as the japanese are now calling the american marines) have dug-in apparently and have defeated all japanese attempt to dislodge them...though reports are sketchy this reporter is told that the un-sung story of japanese atrocities have spurred the usa marines to heights of valor not seen since tank corps singapore withdrew from the theater...now being called the apple-cart invasion the americans are steadily bleeding the ija of men and respect...is peace close...will japan negotiate with the americans as it did with the allies...only time will tell...what is known is that the war-mongering party is steadily gaining ground...so much so that the prime minister cougster the stalwart has secretly assured the heads of the house of lords that he will not renew the non-aggression pact with the ij in april and that war will commence once again in 1942...though this move is oppossed by the freedom loving french and the majority of the prime ministers cabinet that has not forestalled reinforcing the theater...massive formations of brazilian troops are being off-loaded in australia daily and major naval assets are being reassigned from the english lake theater...hopefully japan will see the hopelessness of the situation and seek a more peaceful french-like solution

across the pond: the usa's input into the war is being felt in a very material way as major armor formations with modern artillery have been off-loaded in spain...these fresh troops have bolstered the allied resolve and moral and more materially have freed up much needed division to (as the commander of the newly minted tank corps italy puts it) 'go a-wandering about causing mischief' what this means is anyones guess...but this reporter feels that it means nothing good for the HUN...

the saga continues and new events unfold:

old hound...you glory dog of valor...ur very name is synonymous with hope and victory...is it possible u could do more than u have?...well apparently old hound has added a new weapon to his all ready impressive arsenal...subterfuge...though the true events may never be known until old hound is found and rescued (and maybe not even then as old hound is a stoic reserved mutt by all accounts) what is known is that old hound has made his presence felt once again...this is the story of a man, a dog, and a bottle of fine scotch...officially dubbed the tale of two scotches...

as the readers will recall we left of the story of old hound being absconded with by the routing HUN-italian forces after being heinously wounded after a clash with HUN military forces in corsica...well the valiant mutt was indeed scooped up by italians as they ran for rome and was placed on an italian naval scow sailing to scicily...however it appears as if old hound was actually sent to north italy where the medical facilites were better to treat his war wounds...as it happens the hapless italians had no idea who old hound really was...and with his mastery of the italian language (picked up during lord humphrey's vaction and tour of italian vineyards from an italian duchesses pekingese...that old hound really gets around) he convinced them that he was an italian dog of dubious descent...so impressive was old hound that it wasnt long before he came to the attention of the HUN-italian naval admiral in command of all HUN-italian naval forces...superior admiral Ramon d'Dullianny (or some such...italians have such odd names)...the superior admiral was entranced by the mutts tale and began to sense that there was more to old hounda (as he called himself) than mets the eye...you see when old hound meet the superior admiral he was in a state of despair over the poor showing of the italian navy to-date...and old hound sensed an opportunity to influence the war even if from a hospital bed...as old hound recovered (he was always a fast healer who drove fast cars and loved fast women) he began to fabricate a tale of italian naval prowess and valor...

upon his release from the hospital old hound and the superior admiral had become fast friends and apparently the superior admiral accepted old houndas tale of being on the lam from police for some questionable food acquisition projects (aka he was a thief) and kept the mutt out of the public eye...well one night after the allies began their invasion of sicily old hound and the superior admiral shared two bottle of fine scottish whiskey during which old hounda helped the superior admiral find his manhood again...the superior admiral in a drunken stupor ordered all HUN-italian naval assetst to sail at once and sink the vile english and french fleets...he then to old hounds suprise assumed personal command of the main battle fleet and set sail toward sicily...with old hounda in tow as his naval aid-de-camp!!!...well as reports of mounting losses poured in and as the superior admiral sobered up he began to suspect he was being played...old hound as he revealed himself finally, subdued the superior admiral and locked the poor fellow in his cabin...with his new rank as a HUN-italian naval captain and the aid to the superior admiral he relieved the captain of the conte de cavour from his post and assumed personal command of the dreadnaught...giving orders in the superior admirals name he ordered all ships to make maximum steam and head to the sicily...well the readers know what happened when the HUN-italian navy meet the HMS Hood and a few of her closest friends...

what the readers dont know is what became of old hound...as the allied fleet began to close old hounda ordered the entire HUN-italian navy into torpedo and secondary armament range forbidding the use of their heavy guns until 'they could see the white of the english eyes' (this being verified by the countless prisoners taken)...as one might forget the major weaknesses of the facist regimes is the stiffling of indepented thought, the inability to disagree with superiors, and an unfailing belief their leaders know what the hell their doing...with this in mind it is easy to see the HUN-italian captains accepting old hounda's story of the superior admiral being down below in his cabin with his mistress and not wanting to be disturbed until the allied navy was smashed....well as one would expect the only torpedoes being used that day were english ones as the entire main battle fleet of the HUN-italians was smashed and sent to the bottom...what happened to old hounda is anyones guess as the conte de cavour sunk with all hands as no less than four torpedoes and countless 15" freedom shells smashed her into pulp...one lookout from the HMS Valiant claimed to see a dog and a man clinging to the main mast fighting over her flag as she capsized...but this may be wishful thinking by the young lad as everyone is seeing mutts in the shadows hoping its old hound returning home...

wherever u are old hound a nation owes u more than you will ever know...and a nation prays for ur safe return

sir are u implying that old hound is a myth or the delusional fabrication of a tea addled mind?...you should perhaps watch what u imply lest u rouse the anger of the mutt and find him on an english/aussie walk-about in ur lands...old hound is indeed fluent in japanese and cantonese (ah he remembers the empress well and fondly) and is more than able to commandeer a vessel or a plane (he is a fantastic pilot, learned from his time with the second cousin of the wright brothers during his stay in the lands across the pond) and make his way there...sir

NEWS FLASH---NEWS FLASH-----NEWS FLASH

COMRADE MARSHAL DUCKLING ASSASSINATED

It is with great sadness that The Committee anounces that our beloved Comrade Duckling was found dead in his private study early Wednesday, 4 July 1942. There were no signs of fowl play except that an important treaty the Marshal was reviewing was found sticking out of his bill. The muddy tracks of a large animal, perhaps a dog, were found throughout the room. It is not known if the tracks could be related to the large bulldog-type animal seen by staffers loitering on the grounds during the past days.

Marshal Duckling will best be remembered for keeping the Motherland out of the war now rageing across the world and for rebuilding the now formable Red Army. However, it is well known that he would have preferred to be thought of as the one who single handedly negotiated the Treaty of Perpetual Friendship with the Axis powers, which returned the last provinces of Finland to the bosom of Mother Russia. Unfortunately, that is no longer in the cards.

The Committee hereby rennounces all treaties, agreements, and private understandings previously negotiated by the late Comrade Duckling. The only treaties we recognize are those negotiated by the boots of the Red Army. THESE BOOTS WILL SOON BE WALKING!

For The Committee

El Duck
Secretrary

Duckling is dead, long live El Duck? :D
you should perhaps watch what u imply lest u rouse the anger of the mutt and find him on an english/aussie walk-about in ur lands...
Well, I've been watching what I was implying ever since 1938, it only brought misery to the Japanese people, and the enmity of the Western Allies.... :(
And now, Duckling, my brother, my old loyal friend, is laying dead, likely assassinated by the Mutt himself (itself?)... How much lower do you want Cheeto to go? I gave up everything to keep peace, but nothing can stop ole doggy's warmongerings, blinded by destruction and the lust for blood...
