Might Have To Drop Out

Post: # 82460Post virtualrock

So my computer won't boot and I've tried a few things and they didn't really work. I planning on doing some more things tomorrow but the computer still might not work so I will probably miss the session. If all of the things that I'm going to do to the computer don't work then my dad and I will just wipe the disc and try to reinstall everything. However, I will only be able to do that during the weekend. If the computer still won't work then I will have to drop out. The issue is probably with the hard drive which I might be able to replace next week if I have to.

I ran some test and currently everything is pointing to a problem in hard drive. Will most likely have to get it replaced.

No session tonight, harb is having trouble with his ISP. We'll regroup later in the week as to when to play. Mikey's out of town next Monday. We'll play it by ear.

So it seems like my hard drive is pretty much dead. It's still sort of functioning since I can sometimes boot up the computer but it quickly freezes up. Also the hard drive makes these loud grinding noises occasionally. The noises where also kind of there back when I first had the previous issue. I thought that it was a software issue back when that happened since the computer started working again when I reinstalled the os but I'm guessing now that it was then that the issue with the hard drive began. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to replace the drive anytime soon but we'll see.

Dang man... yeah the noises sound like a bad hard drive. You need you a spiffy new laptop with a solid state drive! Honestly it's worth the price if you can afford it...
