The Interim

Now that EUIV has been completed, and the conversion towards Vicky 2 has begun, I think it'd be nice if we got together for a short game for the interim period. Stu has said the conversion will take 4-6 weeks, and I think something like March of the Eagles, a small Stellaris match, or a scenario-based HOI4/Vicky/EU4 mod that could be wrapped up in a few weeks. My vote would be for March of the Eagles, a game we've talked about a lot but haven't gotten around to, but I'd like to hear other ideas as well.

Harb, what nation would be your top pick in MotE? You looking to re-enact Napoleon's glory in charge of the French?

If we are going to kick off MotE, think we need at least 4 players, England, France, Russia, and Austria. A 5th player should probably go to Prussia, and any above that could fill in Sweden or Ottoman Empire.

France is fine with me, though I wouldn't mind Austria either.

Unfortunately I don’t have March of the Eagles so I’ll have to sit out this one.

I think I'll sit this out, need to focus on actually doing the conversion.
Might pop into the voice chat though.

So the MOTE test game was quite successful, with myself, Mikey, and Altaris joining in. Zarin couldn't make it. This is a very quick game, we got through five years, and the total length of the game is about 15-20, so we could crank this out in a few sessions without too much difficulty. In terms of vital countries to be played, the hierarchy would seem to be as follows:

France
Great Britain
Russia
Austria
Prussia
Ottomans
Spain
Sweden.

The last three are fairly interchangeable, and while France's army and GB's navy are very powerful, they did not seem to be overpowering, and this seems like a game where alliances will shift very quickly, as every power has a very good chance of winning based on the dominance objectives system. Combat is fun as well, with organization being a bit thick in the beginning, but evening out as the game goes on. I definitely think we'll be continuing this one.

yeah this was a fun "lite" paradox game looking forward to trying it further. Stu and/or VR would be great to have you on board if you are interested. it's really easy to pick up basically a light weight combination of CK2 and EU4

Okay, so we're on tomorrow night for March of the Eagles. I have been playing a bit with the 1792 mod, and I recommend we go with it. In general, it's a fairly balanced start where the game could go in many different directions. Not sure if we'll do the 1792 or 1805 campaign, but go ahead and grab the mod just in case. Link here:
